Although we had hoped we would be able to get together in person this year, the Westerns District of Wisconsin Bar Association has decided to hold its Annual Meeting virtually in light latest developments in the COVID19 pandemic. So the Annual Meeting will be held on September 9, 2021 using a virtual platform and thus we hope everyone will be able to attend some portion from the safety of their homes or wherever you may be.
This year's speakers include Professor Richard Painter, former chief White House ethics counsel from 2005 to 2007, who will address the role of attorneys in promoting truth and democratic principles in the court system.
Jayne Reardon, Executive Director of the Illinois Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism, will discuss the role of civility in the legal profession, particularly as it impacts inclusion and diversity.
Magistrate Judge Peter Oppeneer will lead a discussion about the court-sponsored mediation process in the Western District of Wisconsin.
As always, there will be a clerk's report and the judges' panel. We hope you can make it and are eager to see everyone online.
The Annual Conference is free for members including attendance of the CLE Program. Guests can register and attend the CLE Program for $50.
In order to register for the Annual Meeting as a member, you must join or renew your membership for the 2021-2022 membership year. You will have a chance to pay for your membership dues during your registration for the meeting.
